Built at
35,000 feet.
We didn't start with a business plan. We started with a format we couldn't look away from and a seven-hour flight to figure it out.
The flight to Canada
Mike and Rob were on a plane to Canada. Somewhere mid-flight, they both ended up staring at the same type of video in their feeds. Words flashing one at a time. No sound needed. Impossible to stop reading.
Mike leaned over. "Are you watching what I'm watching?" Rob nodded. They both knew immediately — this format was extraordinary for LinkedIn content. For agencies. For anyone who needed to get a message out fast and have it actually land.
So they looked for a tool to make it.
There wasn't one. Not a good one. Not one built for the way agency owners actually work.
They opened their laptops. Seven hours later, the first version of BurstWord existed.

The first burst
Before landing, they'd made their first video. In BurstWord. On the plane. Using the tool they'd just built.
It worked. They watched it back, twice, without sound. Every word landed exactly the way the format was supposed to. That was the moment they knew this wasn't just a side project.
"We watched it back without sound and couldn't stop reading. That was the moment."
— Rob, Co-founder
Built over WhatsApp
The flight landed. The building didn't stop. For the next three days, the product took shape over a WhatsApp thread — features agreed, designs debated, copy refined, decisions made at midnight and 6am.
No agency. No dev team. No funding round. Just two people who'd spotted something and moved fast enough to catch it.

Why we built it
Mike runs one of the UK's leading LinkedIn growth agencies. He understood the content side: what formats work, what audiences respond to, what the algorithm rewards. He also knew that producing consistent video content was the biggest bottleneck his clients faced. Not strategy. Not ideas. Production.
Rob runs a Google Ads agency. He thinks in performance and acquisition — CPCs, conversion rates, the cost of getting in front of someone. He'd watched the paid search market get more expensive every year, and he'd seen the agencies pulling ahead were the ones building organic presence alongside paid. The problem was speed. Nobody had time to make video content at scale.
BurstWord solves both problems. It's the fastest way to turn what you already know — a LinkedIn post, a client insight, a thought you'd normally type and forget — into video content that gets watched, remembered, and shared.
No camera. No editor. No team. Under two minutes, start to finish.
Meet the founders
Two agency owners. One format. One flight.

Mike
Agency founder specialising in LinkedIn content strategy and organic growth. Knows what the algorithm rewards and what audiences actually watch. Couldn't find a fast enough tool for his clients — so built one at 35,000 feet.

Rob
Agency founder with deep roots in Google Ads and performance marketing. Watched CPCs rise for years and started asking what comes before the click. BurstWord is his answer to building intent, not just capturing it.
Now it's your turn to burst.
Make your first video in under two minutes. No camera, no editor, no card required.
